eHarmony starts relationship with AOL
October 14, 2008 – 10:54 pmOnline dating supersite eHarmony recently announced a new relationship — with AOL. Last month, AOL began publishing dating advice from eHarmony editors and allowing registration to the dating service through their AOL personals channel.
The partnership with AOL, which follows similar content sharing with Comcast.net and Yahoo7, represents a shift for the company, which until last year served solely as a profitable paid subscription dating service.
According to eHarmony CEO , Greg Waldorf, “We unlocked all this content and we were blown away by how many people come to it who aren’t subscribers. That’s been the big win for us. It gives us the chance to engage with people, and when they’re ready for a relationship, they can come to us.
AOL users will now be able to log on to AOL personals and have instant access to eHarmony registration as well as to their widely distribute “advice corner” which gives hopeful singles real life tips and tricks to help them land the relationship of their dreams.
