GoDaddy gives back a record amount
January 6, 2009 – 2:22 pmGoDaddy, the world’s largst domain name registrar, announced their charitable contributions for 2008 totalled a massive $1.7 million.
Local, national and international charities have benfited from the record hand-out, which beat their previous year’s total of $1.4 million.
Bob Parsons, GoDaddy CE, explained, “Why not give back? Our company had its best year ever … Considering our country is in the midst of an economic recession now is exactly the time to help out good organizations and people less fortunate.”
Causes supported by GoDaddy cover areas such as Parkinson’s research, breast cancer, child abuse, disabled children, domestic violence, teenage homelessness, and animal shelters.
Charities who benefited include:
- Arizona Children’s Association
- Mothers Against Drunk Driving
- Make A Wish Foundation
- Toys for Tots
- Arizona Humane Society
- Phoenix Zoo, Chrysalis
- HomeBase Youth Services
- The Salvation Army
