GoDaddy, the largest domain registrar and web hosting provider launched GoDaddy Unlimited Email as a result to the ongoing growth of email boxes. Web analysts estimate the number of email boxes will reach two billion worldwide in 2010, representing an increase of more than 297% percent in ten years. To accommodate this increasing need for storage space, GoDaddy is offering its Unlimited Email plan to provide customers unlimited storage for mailboxes.

Prior to the announcement Go Daddy’s hosting plans include free email accounts, though only 100MB of storage space. Customers who were looking for additional storage were forced to purchase one of the company’s paid email plans; though the Deluxe plan only offered up to 2GB of storage space and 5 mailboxes. The new GoDaddy Unlimited Email plan, at $29.99/year, provides customers with a greater value offering unlimited storage and up to 10 mailboxes, the domain registrar firmly believes.

The Unlimited Email plan is accompanied by additional tools such as access to Online File Folder for files and pictures, and Calendar, with the option to keep private or shared with others. GoDaddy’s CEO Bob Parsons believes this will keep Go Daddy competitive in email storage space, having just a week ago celebrated the announcement of GoDaddy’s SSL market share.

NASCAR’s Mark Martin drives GoDaddy car

GoDaddy’s Chevrolet No. 5 car will be driven by NASCAR’s Mark Martin, Saturday August 16, 2008 at the Carfax 250 in Michigan. This will be his third time driving the No. 5 Go Daddy car, just a week after Dale Earnhardt Jr. raced it at Watkins Glen. Dale Jr. designed the GoDaddy Chevrolet, racing it for the first time in April, where he finished seventh overall at the O’Reilly 300.

GoDaddy will be looking to Mark Martin for a victory, after having success two weekends ago when Ron Fellow won at the Napa Auto Parts 200 in Montreal, Canada. The win in Canada was another great feat just weeks after GoDaddy expanded operations into Canada, its first non- U.S. office, and began offering .ca domains.

GoDaddy presents Humane Society $50k donation

GoDaddy, the world’s largest web hosting domain registrar, gave a $50,000 donation for the annual Humane Society’s telethon to the Arizona animal rescue effort.

The Arizona Humane Society was able to reach its goal in donations, largely to the generosity and participation of Go Daddy, which has co-sponsored the telethon for the 3rd consecutive year. Not only did GoDaddy present a donation, but the domain registrar provided online support for the event’s website, answered phones, and helped organize online donations.

With today’s troubling economy, many companies are cutting back resources these days, where as GoDaddy is expanding its workforce, recorded an Internet-first for number of domain name registrations and made more charitable donations already this year than last.
